The Royal Flemish Philharmonic is dedicated to making exciting recordings that can reach and inspire new audiences. A number of the orchestra’s CD recordings have been lauded by the press, such as the recording of Luc Brewaeys’ orchestration of Claude Debussy's Préludes (awarded the KLARA-Muziekprijs for best international CD). The orchestra recorded the CD Dangerous liaison with orchestral works by jazz composer Bert Joris with Daniele Callegari and the Brussels Jazz Orchestra.

Principal conductor, Philippe Herreweghe has completed his recordings of Beethoven's symphonies, which have been released on the internationally renowned label PentaTone. Principal Guest Conductor Martyn Brabbins’ attention for the unknown romantic repertory has led to a series of CD recordings including Flemish, nineteenth-century music for the British classical record label Hyperion.  Chief conductor Jaap van Zweden's recording of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 with the Royal Flemish Philharmonic was released in 2008.
